The Armistice Ball was held here in November 1930 when it was one of of the most popular dance halls in South London

Locarno dance halls were built in most British cities after the Great War and were named after the Treaty of Locarno (Switzerland), which offered a new hope and spirit in post war Europe.

The Streatham dance hall was finally closed and demolished in 2004

Len Goodman learnt his craft at the Streatham Locarno.
